Smart Timetables

Smart Timetables

As part of the Microsoft Student Accelerator Programme, I lead a team of two other interns to work on Smart Timetables for Datacom, a portal that integrates with Microsoft OneNote to dynamically create course notes and notify students of any tertiary changes, it was being used by universities such as Wintec and AUT in New Zealand some years ago.

My Role

I integrated new APIs and services into our product, utilizing SQL Server, C#, and Azure backend technologies, specifically leveraging Azure blobs, queues, and functions/webhooks.

What I enjoyed most was crafting email templates with Razor HTML and CSS, because it prompted me to deliberately consider user experience aspects for the first time in a commercial setting. This blend of technical proficiency and UX sensitivity was immensely enriching.
